Transfield goes mobile with SAP

Construction company aims to reduce costs, increase productivity.

Construction company Transfield has tapped SAP for mobile device management (MDM) and other related services.

Under the agreement, SAP will provide MDM, mobile enterprise application management and packaged mobile enterprise applications including SAP Work Manager, SAP said. The mobile move is aimed at reducing costs and increase productivity, it said.

Many organisations are looking at MDM and enterprise app stores as ways to get the benefits of mobile for employees without giving up security or control.

“Standardising on the SAP mobile platform will allow us to gain better visibility and leverage best practices more easily across our business divisions,” said Transfield general manager of ANZ Transformation, Ivan De Oliva.

“With the SAP Mobile platform and SAP Work manager mobile apps, we will be able to empower our employees—from field workers to executives—with the real-time information needed to keep ahead of competitors.”

SAP Australia head of mobility Andrew Fox said, “Instant mobile access to information will improve Transfield Services’ asset management and customer service—increasingly critical for the future of every company.

“Transfield Services will be able to better anticipate, accelerate and differentiate its business and deliver better service to their clients.”
