The ACT begins switching on to the NBN

The Gungahlin Digital Hub and Enterprise was also launched today.

The National Broadband Network (NBN) has officially been switched on at 4000 premises in Gungahlin, 17km north of Canberra.

Construction has commenced on a further 19,500 premises in the region, including Civic.

The Gungahlin Digital Hub and Enterprise was also launched today.

The hub will provide information on the advantages of the NBN to residents, small businesses and not-for-profit organisations.

NBN Co laid the first distribution cable in the ACT in October last year to link an exchange at Mitchell – 13kms from Canberra – to premises in Gungahlin.
