Qantas website experiences booking glitch

Attempts to book flights or log in to frequent flyer accounts resulted in server errors

Qantas customers were unable to book flights online last night and this morning after the company’s website suffered a server outage.

When customers attempted to arrange flights or log in to frequent flyer accounts, a message said that the server encountered an `internal error or misconfiguration’ and was unable to complete the request.

A Qantas spokesman told Computerworld Australia that the airline experienced “intermittent problems” with the website yesterday and this morning which prevented some customers from accessing the full booking system.

“The problem has now been resolved and we apologise for any inconvenience,” he said.

“We’re investigating the cause of the problem so that we can put in place measures to stop it happening again.”

Qantas uses the Amadeus online booking engine.
