Chris Quin appointed as CEO of Telecom Retail

Quin replaces Alan Gourdie, who is leaving at the end of October

Telecom has announced that Chris Quin has been appointed the CEO of Telecom Retail, effective from October 1. Quin was previously the CEO of Telecom's enterprise IT business, Gen-i, and briefly acted as CEO of Telecom New Zealand before the current CEO, Simon Moutter, took the helm in August.

Quin replaces Alan Gourdie, who resigned in August and leaves the company on October 31.

"Telecom is one of the largest retail businesses in the country, and an iconic brand," says Quin.

"I am thrilled to take on a new challenge as Telecom competes vigorously in the retail market ad makes the most of massive technological changes such as fibre and 4G to bring outstanding new products and services to customers."

Telecom says it is recruiting a replacement for Quin's vacant role at Gen-i. Jo Allison, general manager of marketing and operations, has been appointed as acting CEO of Gen-i in the meantime.
