Following its merger with the Food Safety Authority, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is advertising for a chief information officer who will double as the director of information management.
The appointment is fixed term, for 12 months.
Both organisations previously had their own CIOs but Nigel Prince, who was CIO of MAF, is now deputy director general business services, while Ashley Mudford, formerly of Food Safety, is employed elsewhere within MAF, according to a spokesperson.
“The amalgamation of MAF and NZFSA, and subsequent new organisational structure, has meant that a number of positions are being advertised and are open to internal as well as external applicants,” the spokesperson says.
Prime Minister John Key has indicated that the Ministry of Fisheries might be merged into the new entity.
