The names of the 32 finalists in the PricewaterhouseCoopers New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards 2007 have been released, with the winner to be revealed at a Gala award on November 3 in Wellington. The awards recognise the leading entrepreneurs and innovators from the information and communications technology sector. Previous winners include Navman, Rakon, Endace Measurement Systems and Pulse Data.
CIO New Zealand editor Divina Paredes is a finalist in the Fronde Journalist Award. She was the winner in the 2006 award as editor of MIS Magazine, which has since merged with CIO.
Wayne Norrie, chief executive of Revera and chairman of the organising committee, said the judges had to select from some stunning entries showing an indepth coverage of business, with the Enatel Innovation Award being the category most keenly contested.
