Huawei Australia posted sales of about $368m in 2012, up 61 per cent from last year on what is the company's most successful year in the Australian market.

According to its recently released local 2012 corporate report, Huawei Australia said it doubled its growth in its Carrier Business Group. Its global revenues which were announced earlier stood at about $US 35.5 billion.

Huawei Australia CFO, Luke Austin, said the company's financial performance in 2012 is a reflection of the company's growth in the Australian market.

"Huawei continued to push our localisation strategy during the year, with global CEO, Ren Zhengfei, attending an Australian Board meeting where he announced that local profits would be reinvested in the local business," he said.

Huawei works with all major Australian operators and employ over 700 staff in Australia, 85 per cent of which are locals.

More to come.
