Datacraft on track to meet recruitment target

IT services provider Datacraft plans to appoint more consultants, engineers and developers in the next two months to support a growth in work, particularly in the government space.

Managing director Robin Hartendorp says his company has grown staff numbers to 200 in the past year, an increase of 25 percent. In February he told Reseller News that the company’s target is to have 350 staff by 2011.

“We have acquired some important contracts which has helped us build a strong pipeline for our core services [including virtualisation] in both Auckland and Wellington,” says Hartendorp.

Datacraft has diversified into new technology areas including datacentre consolidation, virtualisation and telepresence, he adds.

“Our Wellington growth is also a result of the introduction of one.govt managed wide area network services.”

He wouldn’t reveal year on revenue growth, citing commercial sensitivity, but says the company is in the last quarter of its financial year and will achieve its targets.

The company doesn’t plan any staff changes as a result of the acquisition of its parent company Dimension Data by Japanese telecommunications firm Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation in July, he says.
