Compass Communications is readying itself to offer mobile services on Vodafone's network, with a launch pegged for March.
Compass currently has several trial customers live on the service, provided as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) through an agreement with Vodafone, says CEO Karim Hussona. Compass is testing its systems ahead of a launch within the next two months.
"Mobile is a new departure and we've got a lot to learn," says Hussona, citing handset support as one issue the company is getting to grips with.
Compass is testing its billing and provisioning systems as part of the trial. The service will be offered under the Compass Communications brand, Hussona says.
Mobile operator Black + White launched its MVNO service in October, promising to cut the cost of mobile prepay services.
Black + White also uses Vodafone's network.
Vodafone is targeting both the fixed line and mobile wholesale markets as part of its growth strategy.
