New Zealand CIO Awards - calling for entries

Awards honour ICT industry's most innovative leaders, rising stars and teams, with the CIO of the Year attending the CIO 100 event in the US

The hunt is on for New Zealand’s leading business technology professionals and teams.

The 2013 New Zealand CIO Awards rewards New Zealand’s most innovative leaders, rising stars and teams who are working in the business technology space.

CIO New Zealand is introducing a new category this year:

Engaging Youth in ICT

The award, sponsored by Fronde, will showcase outstanding initiatives by private enterprise, public sector or academic institutions that will interest young people in learning about and successfully pursuing careers in information technology. The aim is to encourage enterprises to take action to ensure a healthy future pipeline of ICT professionals.

The other categories are:

The entrant must be a New Zealand resident and working in New Zealand at the time entries close (May 3 2013). The winner will attend the CIO100 Awards and Symposium in Colorado Springs, US in August 2013.

Emerging ICT Leader of the Year

The Emerging ICT Leader of the Year award, sponsored by Hays IT, recognises, celebrates and encourages the exceptional ICT talent of professionals.

Executive Team of the year

The Executive Team of the Year Award (for Strategic Use of Business Technology) sponsored by ClearPoint, honours the exceptional teamwork of the executive team in deploying a business technology initiative that has produced a range of benefits for the organisation.

CIO Lifetime Contribution Award

The CIO Lifetime Contribution Award, sponsored by SAP, is awarded to a high profile business person (including, but not necessarily a current or former CIO) from a public or private company whose contribution has significantly and uniquely impacted the greater New Zealand or global business community in an information technology sense over the course of his or her career.

Entries and nominations are open until May 3 at www.cio.nz/awards.

The award winners will be celebrated at the 2013 CIO Summit on June 11 and 12 at SkyCity, Auckland. This year’s theme is The CIO Agenda: Transform, Innovate, Engage.
