Fairfax Media has purchased TenderLink, which provides tender notification services and electronic tendering services, for $21.6 million.
In Fairfax’s statement to the Australian Securities Exchange announcing the buy, it is noted that TenderLink is “the Southern Hemisphere’s largest tendering notification service provider”.
Fairfax Digital chief executive Jack Matthews says in the statement: “TenderLink’s digital solution improves the tendering process for both tenderers and suppliers.
“As the clear leader in its market, TenderLink fits our strategy of acquiring high growth transactional businesses that provide services to the SME market.
“Combining TenderLink with our digital network, this already profitable business has considerable potential for growth.”
TenderLink was founded by Philip Brown, who will remain as CEO under Fairfax’s ownership, in New Plymouth in 1994. It employs 38 staff in New Zealand and nine in Australia.
