Maxnet signs Datasouth

New client for firm's southern datacentre

Maxnet has signed a new client, IT services provider Datasouth, for its Christchurch datacentre, which opened in April. Datasouth is a systems integrator that provides business intelligence, software development, network infrastructure and system design and support services. In a statement from Maxnet announcing the signing of Datasouth, Jonn-Paul Lambie, Datasouth's chief technology officer, says Maxnet's status as an ISP helped win it the deal. "Maxnet could offer us five times the bandwidth for the price we paid to our previous internet provider," he says. Datasouth is based in Christchurch, and will mainly utilise Maxnet's Christchurch datacentre, but will also use Maxnet's Auckland datacentre for redundancy and disaster recovery. Other Maxnet customers include APN Online, M&C Saatchi, Yarrows and TrustPower.
