The third annual ITEX conference was held in Auckland at the Viaduct Events centre yesterday.

The conference featured three international keynote speakers, local IT case studies, sessions on IT leadership and panel discussions on mobile strategy and near field communication.

There were four stages running concurrent sessions throughout the day.

Sesame Workshop CTO Noah Broadwater illustrated his presentation on the Consumerisation of IT using pictures of colleagues Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch (he noted his co-workers thought he most resembled the latter).

PC World editor Zara Baxter holds up a Samsung ATIV Smart PC during a joint presentation with Computerworld journalist Sim Ahmed on what's hot, what's not and what's next in devices.

NASA senior computer scientist Chris Mattmann talked about the challenge of dealing with 700 terabytes of data per second.
