Massey University has appointed Clive Martis as CIO, effective from October 19.
He replaces Gerrit Bahlman, who resigned in June and is now director of IT at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Bahlman had been CIO since 2004 and had been at Massey, mainly in IT management roles, since 1989.
Martis is currently director of information and communications technology services at the University of Canterbury, a position he has held since 2006. Before this, he was general manager of information technology services at the University of Adelaide.
Massey is number nine in the MIS100 2009 report on the largest ICT user organisations in New Zealand.
Martis has strong links with Massey, having gained his BA and MBA there and serving as a staff member between 1993 and 2004.
