Holmes takes reins at Optimation

Ex-Gen-i Australia head to take up CEO role

Optimation has appointed Rhoda Holmes as its new chief executive.

Holmes was formerly general manager, Australasian key clients for Gen-i. Prior to that, she held roles as general manager, Australia for Gen-i , general manager, customer and network services for AAPT, and general manager, network investment for Telecom New Zealand.

Optimation’s out-going chief executive and founder Neil Butler says Holmes has an exceptional track record both in winning new business and in building and maintaining productive long-term relationships with customers.

Butler will retain his position on Optimation’s board of directors, and will be focusing on exploring strategic long-term growth opportunities for the company.

“I’ll be looking at merger and acquisition opportunities.”

He says there was very wide interest in the CEO position from senior people both in New Zealand and offshore.

Holmes left Gen-i at the end of July following a restructure which saw Chris Quin become trans-Tasman CEO, rather than just head of New Zealand operations, the role Quin had held for some years.

Under the old arrangement, both Quin and Holmes reported to Simon Moutter, who was then chief operating officer of Gen-i.
