Fujitsu offers free cloud trial to software vendors and SMEs

Free trial incentive to drive development and use of applications

Fujitsu has announced a free trial programme for its cloud offering, aimed at Australian and New Zealand independent software vendors and small to medium enterprises.

Over the next three months, organisations will be able to access the cloud platform, which includes infrastructure as a service, software as a service, and platform as a service, hosted in Fujitsu’s Australian data centres.

Craig Baty, chief technology officer for Australia and New Zealand, says the trial has been introduced as an incentive to smaller organsiations such as ISVs and SMEs to drive the development and use of applications.

“It will also allow organisations of all sizes to test the suitability of the cloud locally,” he says. “ISVs will benefit from the ability to sell their software as a service to a global market place.

“SMEs will benefit from the flexibility and scalability of our cloud platform, which will allow them to provision ICT infrastructure and services to match the peaks and troughs of demand.”

Fujitsu has a standard operating environment across six global regions.

“Every region has the ability to create a local cloud based on local needs such as privacy and latency,” Baty says.

In fact, Fujitsu has three cloud offerings: one based on VMWare and Cisco technology; a Microsoft Azure platform; and the Fujitsu Hypervisor-based platform.

The global cloud platform is built on open standards with published APIs, and includes 24x7 global support.

The two-month free trial offer is available immediately and is valid until January 31 2012.
