Alcatel-Lucent CTO promoted to A/NZ role

Martin Sharrock takes up new position

Alcatel-Lucent NZ chief technology officer Martin Sharrock has been promoted to Australia-New Zealand CTO. Ric Clark, former Australian CTO, has taken up a role with the company in China.

Sharrock held the role of NZ and Pacific Islands CTO from 2009 until last month, when he took on the Australia-New Zealand role. The new role also includes the Pacific Islands.

He was New Zealand CTO during the outages to Telecom’s XT mobile network, which Alcatel-Lucent built, and was one of the company’s key spokespeople during the outages.

Before 2009, he was with Alcatel-Lucent in Japan and, prior to Alcatel’s merger with Lucent Technologies, held roles with both companies. He began his career with the UK Ministry of Defence in the early 1990s.
