FX Networks MD resigns, will take on new business director role

Murray Jurgeleit, managing director for six years, hands reins to David Heald

Murray Jurgeleit is stepping down as managing director after six years at the helm of FX Networks.

He will be replaced by David Heald, who will carry the title of chief executive officer.

Jurgeleit, who will remain on the board, will take on the role of new business director. His resignation is effective from October 1.

“Colin Hill, our chairman, offered me the role back in November 2005 for a period of three years,” Jurgeleit says. “I fully expected to retire at the end of the initial contract but it’s been so much fun that I committed to another three years, which is coming to an end this November.

“We’ve come a long way from those humble beginnings in 2005, finishing just shy of $40 million revenue last year," he says.

"We are well established now as a very credible integrator of fibre, telecommunications and construction services to the government and to the business community. But more than that, we have become a provider of choice to many of these organisations.

“I’ve been fortunate in my 40-plus years in the industry to have had a lot of challenging and exciting roles but this has been the most fun of all by a long country mile.”

David Heald has held several senior executive positions in the ICT industry. He was general manager of IBM Global Services before joining FX Networks in 2009 as general manager of infrastructure.
