Xero integrates with Google Docs

Partners with Wellington SaaS payroll firm iPayroll

Xero users are now able to export from the SaaS accounting application into Google Docs, Xero founder Rod Drury has announced on his blog.

"As we’re getting there with the core accounting functionality we’re now able to get some of the really cool things we’ve been wanting to for a while into the product," Drury writes. Xero has also integrated with another Wellington-based SaaS firm, iPayroll, who helped Xero test its application programming interface (API) functionality.

The integration means accounting transactions for payroll appear automatically in Xero, ready to be approved, saving time and avoiding data entry.

“The beauty of web-based systems is they can talk directly to each other behind the scenes. It was very easy to integrate with Xero,” iPayroll executive director Cary Thomson said in a statement.
