Wellington-based Xero Live has announced that its online accounting solution is now available to 4.5 million small businesses in the UK.
The software as a service (SaaS) firm's CEO, Rod Drury, said in a statement to the stockmarket yesterday that it was an important internal goal to earn export revenue within a year of Xero's stock exchange listing, which happened in June 2007.
"Xero was designed as a global business. Our substantial investment in operational systems and R&D, specifically internationalisation, has allowed us to enter the UK market ahead of schedule," he says.
Xero has signed up a number of UK based accounting partners and has UK customers already using the product, the company says.
