SmartPay has changed its name to SmartPay Holdings Ltd, to better reflect its status as a holding company for businesses operating in both New Zealand and Australia, the company announced this morning.
Pushing into Australia has been a key focus for the payments specialist this year and it has applied to list on the Australian Securities Exchange.
According to SmartPay: “It is expected that the listing process will be progressed as soon as the company's audited accounts are released to the market and is targeted to be completed by the end of August 2011.”
It already has a significant client base in Australia, including a large taxi firm. The company has approximately 15,000 terminals in Australia.
