CA Pacific area manager Brenton Smith resigns

Solution sales VP to take on role until permanent replacement found

Brenton Smith, the Australia-New Zealand head of CA Technologies, has quit the top job after only three years in the role, to take up the role of Asia-Pacific and Japan vice-president of Symantec's cloud business. Smith was area manager of CA Technologies Pacific Region, which encompasses Australia and New Zealand. The news of Smith's resignation was broken by The Australian yesterday, which revealed Smith had accepted a regional role with another technology company. The Australian reported that the news came only four days after the company opened a new office in Canberra, and only months after it acquired Sydney-based technology partner Torokina Networks. Vice-president of solution sales, Chris Wilson, is set to take on the role of until a decision is made about Smith's replacement. CA Technologies last year announced it planned on realigning five business units, with the company appointing new unit heads.
