SLI Systems wins Interflora UK business

Another major client is signed up

Christchurch company SLI Systems has added a third major UK client to its growing overseas market by signing Interflora for its Learning Search hosted tool.

Learning Search will enable Interflora to continually refine its in-site search and deliver the most relevant online results to its customers.

Interflora’s head of channel development, Ben Freeborn, says the web has become a critical channel and that making it easier for customers to find what they want and to order is essential.

“SLI also gives us a much better understanding or our customers and increased control of the search results, which will enable us to improve conversion rates”, he is quoted as saying in a media release from SLI Systems.

SLI's other global clients include the UK Treasury and the Next clothing chain.

Chief executive Shaun Ryan says the company is doing 90% of its business overseas, primarily in the US but also in Australia, Germany and Canada. Locally, major customers include Dick Smith, Noel Leeming, Statistics New Zealand, and the Christchurch and Dunedin City Councils.

All the development work is done in Christchurch.

The company employs 32 people, a few of whom are based in the US and UK.

Auckland-based investment firm Pioneer Capital recently put $1 million into SLI Systems. Pioneer also has investments in Right Hemisphere, Orion Health and Grand Challenge (Inro).
