Telecom Wholesale to report direct to Chorus

Change in reporting lines comes in run-up to structural separation; Two small divisions of Wholesale exempt from move

Telecom has announced that acting Telecom Wholesale CEO Nick Clarke will now report directly to Mark Ratcliffe, CEO of Chorus.

In a statement posted on the NZX website, Telecom CEO Paul Reynolds is quoted as saying: “As I announced in April, we will be progressively aligning the regulated Wholesale business with Chorus to provide a more seamless service for Wholesale customers and allow the teams to collaborate more effectively to deliver on the RBI and UFB commitments.

“To do this, we need one executive and one team accountable to our customers.

“This means Nick Clarke, with many of the Wholesale team, will move to report to Mark Ratcliffe, while a smaller Wholesale unit will stay outside Chorus, covering IP interconnect and resale.

“Robust operational separation principles and practices remain firmly in place, and these changes will improve the ability of our people in Chorus and Telecom Wholesale to better deliver for our customers at a critical period of change.

“We remain absolutely committed to the Undertakings on Operational Separation agreed in 2008," Reynolds says.
