iVistra wins $289,000 FRST grant

Company targets offshore projects with new data visualisation tools

Auckland based data visualisation company iVistra has won a $289,000 grant from the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology.

The grant will be used to create new technologies for use in offshore projects, the company says.

“It will support our drive to develop a range of new data visualisation technologies that we need to provide the cutting-edge solutions that major international businesses want,” iVistra's chief executive, Craig Meek, says.

He says the grant will be used to develop middleware and developer kits to help organisations integrate data visualisation with their existing IT.

It will also be used to develop: an interactive scheduling system to introduce scheduling and capacity optimisation to vehicle tracking systems; a new mapping engine to generate three-dimensional, animated, real-time displays of people and objects moving within buildings; and new mobile device displays that will enable a range of mobile phones and other hand-held devices to be used to gain interactive access to data visualisation systems.
