'Hot' iPods to hit Australia's streets after robbery

Over 390 'hot' iPods collectively valued in excess of A$70,000 wholesale may be hitting the streets after a break-in this week, warn Police

Offenders broke into a bulk storage shed at Star Track Express on Mercantile Court in Queensland on Tuesday morning, according to the police.

Over 390 iPods with a total wholesale value in excess of A$70,000 (NZ$82,240) were stolen as well as a number of Sony brand digital cameras and digital handicams.

Detective Inspector Hartwell is asking for anyone approached about buying any of these items to contact the police.

"Obviously in order for the offenders in this instance to obtain any money they will have to try and sell these iPods and video cameras," he said in a press statement.
