A site search solution from Christchurch-based SLI Systems has proved a hit with A&S BMW Motorcycles, the top internet shopping destination for BMW motorcycle riders.
Since deploying SLI’s hosted site search software, the US company has experienced increased site traffic and positive feedback from online customers, says Todd Schafer, managing director of e-commerce at A&S BMW.
“A&S regularly ranks at the very top of all BMW motorcycle-related searches on major search engines such as Google and Yahoo, but driving traffic to a site that produces poor search results is counter-productive,” he says.
“Our representatives can now find items on the site without having to know an exact part number or the keyword that was used in searching for the product.”
He says A&S BMW began working with SLI more than six months ago to allow online customers to find the regular maintenance items they needed, as well as enabling a large do-it-yourself customer base to easily locate the specific parts required for a build.
“Before implementing SLI’s site search, we were limited by the home-grown search platform we were using, which often returned thousands of results from a search query, leaving customers frustrated.”
SLI’s patented search technology learns from past site search activity and uses that data to deliver the most relevant search results.
The company, which was set up six years ago, employs around 30 people.
