TechTonics adds EMC products to stable

Documentum is also represented in New Zealand by Fujitsu, Optimation and Unisys

TechTonics has added the EMC Documentum suite of products to its stable of document management, records management and content management solutions.

Staff have been trained and certified to provide specialist consultancy and support services to new and existing Documentum customers in New Zealand.

TechTonics positions itself as the largest specialist document management company in New Zealand. Late last year, it signed an agreement to represent Open Text, which had acquired Hummingbird. TechTonics was the Hummingbird agent in New Zealand.

Steve Harrison, manager of TechTonics’ information management business team, says that adding Documentum will enable TechTonics to offer complete solutions that can be configured to each customer’s needs, such as the size and style of the implementation, budget, sector and business-specific needs.

Documentum is also represented in New Zealand by Fujitsu, Optimation and Unisys. There are around half-a-dozen active sites and several in proof-of-concept stage, says Harrison.

The enterprise content management market in New Zealand is worth around $100 million annually.

Meanwhile, an announcement is expected shortly that another enterprise content management company, Objective Corporation, which is particularly strong within New Zealand government, has formed a partnership with the Research and Education Advanced Network of New Zealand. REAANZ operates the high-speed KAREN network for the education and research sectors.

REAANZ CEO Donald Clark won’t comment at this stage but says an announcement is due soon. Objective indicated on its stand at the recent GOVIS conference that it would be involved with KAREN.
