MED replaces electronic records system

Open Text Content Server replaces iManage

The Ministry of Economic Development has chosen Open Text Content Server as its electronic records management system, replacing iManage, which the ministry has used for the past 12 years.

MED went to tender last year and has selected Techtonics as the preferred supplier, though a contract has yet to be signed.

A spokesman says an electronic system will be an easier, more efficient and cost-effective way of managing records.

“As part of this upgrade, we sought a document management system that offered integrated records management abilities,” he says.

“Techtonics’ solution was accepted because it more closely aligns with the ministry’s goal for seamless integration and unconscious adoption.

“Open Text Content Server manages both records and documents and integrates well with Microsoft Office.

“The project is still in its early stages and, at this point, it is too early to speculate on implementation dates.”
