Readership survey delivers the goods

Many readers took part in Computerworld's readership survey - but there's only one winner

The Computerworld readership survey has proved a great success with around 10% of all Computerworld readers responding. Thanks to everyone who took the time to tell us what you like, how you read Computerworld and what you’d like to see next year.

We’ll sift through the results and debate all the possible permutations until we all have headaches and are forced to go to the pub for a cleansing ale.

Panasonic came to the party with a serious incentive — a Toughbook CF-18 valued at $6,950, excluding GST. This bad boy has it all — rubber seals on all its ports to keep the dust and cooties out, built-in HSDPA so you can surf the web on Vodafone’s network and a chassis that looks like it came off a Tonka. Good one, Panasonic and thanks for the great prize.

Ultimately, of course, there can be only one — winner that is. And the Toughbook is winging its way to Doug Wilson, CIO at the Automobile Association who will immediately re-wrap the Toughbook and pass it on to his wife, Cushla, who is returning to her studies next year and has won a scholarship that involves a lot of travel.

Doug and Cushla had been planning to buy a new notebook so “this is just perfect” says Doug.

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to help us make Computerworld into a better publication.
