CHH still hiring despite takeover uncertainty

IT jobs advertised during asset transfer

Carter Holt Harvey is hiring IT staff in the midst of an ongoing ownership transition.

The company recently advertised for a supply chain analyst and a transition manager, indicating that IT development will continue despite the company’s uncertain ownership status, following Rank Group’s purchase of its assets earlier this year.

Carter Holt CIO Pat O’Connell says the company is “not at liberty” to comment. The supply chain analyst vacancy calls for “an experienced IT professional” with “SAP, supply chain and change management experience”. The transition manager job calls for “an experienced IT professional” with “project management and change-management experience, preferably with relevant ITIL certification”.

Rank Group launched a takeover bid for Carter Holt last year and took full control in March.

The New Zealand Herald reported last week that Rank Group is seeking a buyer for Carter Holt’s forest estate, but the fate of other Carter Holt assets is uncertain.

Last year Carter Holt sold its SAP services business, Oxygen, to Australian IT services provider UXC. The sale only involved the SAP services division of Oxygen; the remainder was rolled into Carter Holt’s internal IT department.
