Vodafone has bought a 12-way clustered, high-availability Sun system worth $1.5 million for a large project in its billing centre.
Axon has delivered the system, along with replacement Sun hardware for other parts of the business.
Vodafone has also appointed Axon its preferred supplier for Sun products. Previously, it sourced Sun from the former Solnet, but has not made any purchases since the demise of that company early this year.
The current deal is said to be worth around $1.5 million. Axon and Sun will provide services for the project.
Vodafone was not available for comment.
