Enprise wins six Polytech sites

It's hard to beat local support

One of New Zealand’s fastest growing polytechs has signed with Enprise for an ERP solution based on the Exonet platform across campuses in Greymouth, Auckland, Christchurch, Hokitika, Reefton and Wanaka.

Tai Poutini Polytechnic has 10,000 students across six campuses nationwide.

Finance and administration manager Alister Barrell says Enprise won the contract following research conducted by an independent consultant hired by the polytech.

“We took special trouble to talk with the actual end users of the different systems available, which was most enlightening,” he says.

“We found that while the CFO who selected a system would speak of it in glowing terms, end users might dislike it. We value having New Zealand-based support. We know of polytechnics which run systems that are supported out of Australia, and if they have a problem at 9am there’s absolutely nothing they can do about it until 11am.”

It is the first sale of Exonet to a New Zealand polytech.

The Enprise solution will include development of a web-based requisitions module, in addition to financials and job costing.

The polytech incorporates the Music & Audio Institute of New Zealand, the New Zealand School of Scaffolding and the Mountain Education Centre of New Zealand. As a specialist in courses that fit specific business requirements, it fields calls from industries looking to create courses. That’s where the job costing module will be used to assess whether it is cost-effective to run a course.

Enprise expects the new system to go live in a little over eight weeks.
