WIT launches mentoring programme

Accelerate plan is 'an adventurous development'

Women in Technology has launched a mentoring programme aimed at bringing together senior IT practitioners with generalist or board-level professional experience and matching them with women in the IT industry.

Launched last week, WIT’s Accelerate programme aims to provide a structured approach to support the development of women in IT, encouraging them to take on new challenges, build confidence and personal networks across the ICT industry.

Cheryl Horo, WIT’s new general manager, says WIT is already receiving plenty of interest from those wanting mentoring and from individuals keen to offer their time and skills in mentoring roles.

"This program is an adventurous development for an organisation as young as WIT.

“By hopping aboard this new programme, WIT members are encouraged to extend themselves to accelerate their careers and take advantage of the expertise, skills and knowledge of more experienced industry mentors,” says Horo.
