ANZ Bank is moving half of its 30 IT infrastructure support staff from Wellington to Auckland to "create a bit of balance".
The company doesn't have strong infrastructure support in Auckland, says spokeswoman Rita Zonius.
While some staff have opted to relocate from Wellington, others have yet to decide. Some have opted to "seek other opportunities, within or outside the bank".
ANZ recently advertised for two systems analysts, project and implementation co-ordinators and a contracts and services manager. They were to be based in Auckland.
Zonius says the shift doesn't indicate an intention to move the bank's IS systems base from Wellington to Auckland.
