BCL has signed two new partners to its high-speed wireless network. ICONZ and Ihug, two of the larger ISPs, have both joined Telecom in signing deals with BCL. State-owned BCL is moving from providing wireless broadcast access for the nation's TV and radio stations into providing two-way high speed data capability as well.
BCL has been working with Telecom to provide broadband access beyond Telecom's own network infrastructure and is part of Telecom's Project PROBE tender. Both ICONZ and Ihug will begin trials of the BCL network in Southland and Taranaki with plans to go live with a national product suite in November.
