NZ Post has appointed an IT specialist from within the organisation, Aaron Kumove, to the newly-created position of CIO.
Last month the Post business group known as Shared Services was put on a fully commercial footing as a separate company, NZ Post Services Ltd, which looks after the implementation of IT projects and other innovations.
Kumove will be responsible for managing strategy, architecture, frameworks and the standards and policies of IT.
This signals the clear split between the strategic and policy side of the company’s IT and the implementation. Previously the distinction between these roles was unclear.
Kumove was previously the engineering manager in the e-business group at Post, but he was also responsible for IT architecture across the company.
