Auckland-based publishing firm Profile Publishing was attacked by a hacker yesterday.

The Profile corporate website, as well as the sites for the individual magazines it produces, were replaced with a Church of Satan graphic and a series of words, possibly in Portugese.

Stephen Taylor, whom Domainz lists as the admin contact for Profile Publishing, said this morning the company was hard at work replacing the various sites.

"It's the whole lot, about half a dozen [sites]."

By early afternoon all of the sites were working properly.

Taylor says he will be talking with the host of Profile's sites about the attack. IDGNet understands Auckland ISP Maxnet is Profile's provider.

Profile publishes NZ Business, Marketing, Management, On Film, NZ Forest and a series of advertising industry publications.
