Dear What Am I Worth,

I am a customer services representative. I look after hardware and software repairs for banking, retail (POS) systems, and PCs.

I am on the road all day. I have a degree in electronics (four years), an electrical registration certificate, a security awareness course and customer service experience.

I have spent 18 months computer contracting and one year full-time with this company. I work for a computer/banking/retail global company. I am based in Auckland.

Intellimark replies: The market salary for a customer service representative is between $30,000 to $40,000, and as it sounds like you are also involved in technical repairs, you could expect the higher end of this bracket, and possibly up to $45,000 once you have gained some more experience. Obviously this salary should include some sort of car allowance benefit as you are required to do a lot of travelling.
