E-zmail offers pay-per-view net kiosks

Local company E-zmail Kiosks is importing pay-per-use Internet and phone kiosks from Canada.

Local company E-zmail Kiosks is importing pay-per-use Internet and phone kiosks from Canada and aims to sell them to local companies - including hotels, cafes and airports.

Each kiosk consists of a phone, video camera, browser screen, keyboard and touch pad mouse.

Customers pay with coins or credit cards and E-zmail Kiosks director Steve Clarkson says owners can expect to pay for the kiosk (costing around $15,000 incl GST) in 12 to 16 months, depending on daily usage. On-screen advertising of local businesses provides another potential income.

Clarkson says he has spoken to cafes, travel agents, and larger hotels, "anywhere there's a secure environment".

Iconz will be the ISP for the kiosks and will work with E-zmail Kiosks to promote the product.
