Property management company Landplan Property Group has been using Citrix’s Nfuse portal software to keep McDonald’s New Zealand staff and other interested parties informed about the refurbishment of 147 of the fast food chain’s outlets.

The firm implemented the MetaFrame 1.8 application server and Nfuse Classic 1.6 portal of thin-client specialist Citrix with the help of Maclean Computing. HP Netserver LC 2000 and Netserver E60 servers running Microsoft Windows 2000 were the underlying platform. Citrix MetaFrame SecureICA Services, which provides both 128-bit and 40-bit encryption, was implemented for security.
Once file and directory access policies had been set in place and the server secured behind a firewall, contractors, McDonald’s head office staff, McDonald’s franchisees and Landplan staff could work with all project documents via the internet.
Autodesk Volo View Express lets CAD drawings be viewed and referenced online, which assures contractors that they are working from the most recent set of plans. Documents such as meeting minutes, financial reports and project timelines are all saved in separate directories in their native formats as well as converted to Acrobat PDF.
Landplan is working on extending the solution to its other offices.
