Customers of the former Auckland-based Genie Systems say they have been unaffected by the receivership and subsequent takeover of the business by Australian investor Marcus Cake.

Customers of the former Auckland-based Genie Systems say they have been unaffected by the receivership and subsequent takeover of the business by Australian investor Marcus Cake.

The renamed OrderWare Solutions is “chugging along”, says founder and chief executive Peter Garden, referring to new versions of its longstanding products, the Java-based order-entry system OrderWare and Data Transformation Manager.

Lion Nathan CIO Darryl Warren says the change of ownership at OrderWare/Genie has made “no difference” at his firm and the product is still used.

Unisys outsourcing director Gerrard Kaczmarek says: “Going through different ownership has not changed the way we do business with them.” Unisys sells the software to Fisher & Paykel on an ASP basis.
