Media marketing software maker Engage is closing its Australian, Asian and continental European operations to focus on the US and Britain, says Wilson and Horton Interactive managing director Mark Ottaway.
W&H Interactive has been an Engage customer since May, when it adopted Engage’s online advertising management system, which includes a tracking function.
“Now, we’ll be getting our support from the US, not Australia,” says Ottaway, who believes it will be business as usual for W&H Interactive and Engage.
Engage has also felt the effects of the dot-com meltdown, with 550 jobs – half its workforce - being cut in January and another 100 going last month.
The company, which is yet to make a profit, received further bad news last month when parent company CMGI announced it wouldn’t renew a conditional $US50 million loan arrangement it had entered into with Engage.
Engage was unavailable for comment about the non-US and UK closures.
