I’m a senior technical specialist in central Auckland. I’m in a team of five looking after mission-critical back-office servers. I handle all areas of support issues escalated by our helpdesk and am mostly involved in projects to implement and enhance current infrastructure. My key duties include looking after our Exchange 5.5 server which has about 800 mailboxes, and our Citrix Metaframe farm of nine servers which supports around 200 users. Other back-office servers that I look after include NT 4.0 proxy, file and print, SMS and SQL servers.
My technical background includes 4.5 years as a customer service engineer before moving into my current role. I have two years’ experience in my current role and 16 years’ experience in the industry.
Some achievements in my present role are: migration of nine departmental Netware 3.12 servers to NT 4.0, design new IP schema for LAN and WAN, implemented disaster recovery and brick-level restore of Microsoft Exchange 5.5 Server using ArcServeIT 6.61, developed new Terminal Server Image for Citrix Metaframe Farm, migrated applications from NetWare servers to NT 4.0 application servers, installed, set-up, deployed and trouble-shot HP Netserver series.
I currently hold the following certificates: NZCE (Electronics & Computers), CNE, MSCE. I’m studying towards my CCA qualification and MCSE 2000 Track.
