Dear What Am I Worth,

I am looking at an analyst/programmer position. I have had four years working for a small software house (creating both custom and standard software). Before that I gained a Diploma in Business Computing (originally ACBC) at both AIT and Northland Polytechnic. Previous to that I had employment in clerical jobs and had passed a small number of papers at Auckland University attempting to gain a BCom, so have good business knowledge.

My duties included first line of defence phone support and follow up (some on-site), programming (all in either Fox 2.6x, VFP 5.0& 6.0), testing/distribution of upgrades etc. About 50% of my time is spent on programming, a large part of that involving maintenance.

IT Futures replies: I assume you are looking for a position using your existing VF skill set, which while not a mainstream programming language, does have a market in certain sectors. This affects your likely remuneration. A salary of $55,000 to $60,000 is likely.
