Biolab Scientific says five more suppliers have agreed to join its OneZone electronic marketplace which went live last month.

They are:

  • UCC (University Computers Consortium), an agent for Apple, Silicon Graphics, Dell and Microsoft that sells in bulk to the country’s universities;
  • Auckland-based laser cartridge and printer supplier Laser Plus;
  • gas supplier BOC Gases;
  • printing paper company Moore Gallagher; and
  • office supplies company O Com.
The five will join Computerland, Dick Smith Electronics, OTC and Corporate Express on the Ariba-based platform.

Early customers of OneZone include The University of Auckland, AgResearch and Waikato University.

OneZone is soon to go live in Australia, where Biolab is in a partnership with Selby Scientific.

It has been set up as a separate company from Biolab, with Biolab’s e-business general manager Catherine Calarco as chief executive. Calarco says the OneZone team is to move out of Biolab’s Albany offices and relocate to Massey University’s Albany-based e-centre.
