Travel Online goes with Stuff

The Ihug-controlled Travel Online is to provide travel services to INL's Stuff news site, in a deal similar to that its rival travel.co.nz has with the New Zealand Herald Online.

The Ihug-controlled Travel Online is to provide travel services to INL's Stuff news site.

The deal announced yesterday will see Travel Online provide similar services to those travel.co.nz provides to Stuff's rival The New Zealand Herald Online and to TVNZ's Nzoom portal.

Ihug director Nick Wood acknowledged recently that travel.co.nz had been negotiating to acquire Travel Online, which has not been profitable and required a capital injection from Ihug late last year. It is unclear what the Stuff deal implies for the company's future ownership.

The agreement integrates Travel Online's content into the existing travel channel on the Stuff site. Stuff's marketing manager Sarah Caseley says the relationship with Travel Online will provide a "one-stop-shop" for Internet-based travel information.

"We could have no better partner than Travelonline to help us provide a complete travel service to an ever increasing number of people who use the internet for their travel information," she says.

Travelonline director, Julie-Ann Bell, says she foresees "significant benefits deriving from the progressive nature of

Both companies, and look forward to providing our service to Stuff customers as well as our own."
