RealNetworks has released a new software product designed to make it easier for companies to beef up presentations with multimedia content and distribute them over networks.

Called RealPresenter G2, the software allows companies to incorporate PowerPoint slides and Web pages into a presentation that can be broadcast live over the Internet or stored on a user's hard drive and viewed later. Snippets of voice and video can be attached to slides in order to bring the presentation to life, officials said in a statement.

The software was codeveloped with Intel, and includes presentation software developed by the chip maker.

The application is available in two versions. RealPresenter G2 broadcasts to as many as 15 viewers from a desktop PC, while RealPresenter Plus G2 can reach up to 25 viewers from a desktop PC, or thousands of viewers using RealServer 7.0, officials said.

Beta versions of both products are available now from RealNetworks' Web site, at http://www.realnetworks.com/. RealPresenter G2 is free, while the beta of RealPresenter G2 Plus is priced at US$69.95, RealNetworks said.

RealNetworks is located in Seattle, and can be reached at +1-206-674-2700 or at http://www.real.com.
