RealNetworks and Intel have announced plans to streamline the deployment of streaming media.
RealNetworks has licensed Intel's Streaming Web Video software technology into RealSystem G2. And Intel has promised to help market the product to Web authors.
The combination of products enables video to be encoded four times faster and on a single machine, officials said. End-users will also have a better viewing experience because of the new decoding performance, they added.
A beta of RealSystem G2 featuring the Intel streaming component will be available in 30 days.
