New Zealand encryption software company RPK is set to launch a four-version email privacy product line that it says will work with most Internet mail POP3 or SMTP clients.
The free trial version of InvisiMail offers encryption but no authentication, while the personal version, which should cost about $US19.95 from the Web site, offers file compression, a higher level of encryption plus authentication. Meanwhile, the professional version ($US29.95) offers digital signature capabilities, as well as compression and encryption. The enterprise server version can be used as a gateway. The price is likely to be about $19.95 per user. Prices are indicative only.
RPK has signed a deal with Parsons Technologies in the US to sell to retail customers.
RPK president Jack Oswald says the company is getting close to gold master for the product, which has been developed largely in the UK.
